The framework
VALUE360™ — the 5-dimension framework to grow your business valuation
The proven way to drive up your business valuation and be ready to exit on your terms. VALUE360™ measures the transferable value a buyer examines in due diligence, then gives you the roadmap to build it before you go to market. VALUE360™ is Exit Advisory Group’s five-dimension framework for measuring and growing transferable business value. It scores a business across the five dimensions a buyer examines in due diligence: Financial Performance, Growth System, Fulfilment System, People & Leadership and Operating System.
The five dimensions
What VALUE360™ measures
Each dimension focuses on the key areas that drive up business valuation. This process is like looking at your business through the eyes of a buyer and creating transferable value that survives the owner's departure.
What is Financial Performance in VALUE360™?
The quality, predictability and trend of the profit your business produces. This dimension asks whether your earnings would survive a buyer's diligence: clean records, genuine add-backs, healthy margins and a trend the numbers actually support. It is the foundation the other four dimensions build value on top of.
What we look at
- Earnings quality and trend
- Margin efficiency
- Working capital and capital structure
What good looks like: Monthly management accounts, defensible add-backs, and margins that hold or improve year on year.
What kills value: Messy records, earnings that swing without explanation, and cash trapped in working capital.
What is the Growth System in VALUE360™?
The repeatable engine that brings in new business without depending on the owner. This dimension looks at whether demand is a system or a personality: how leads are generated, how the sales process converts them, and how well customers are retained. Buyers pay for growth that is still ahead of the business, not behind it.
What we look at
- Lead generation
- Sales process
- Customer retention and stability
What good looks like: A measured pipeline, a documented sales process, and customers who stay.
What kills value: Growth that lives in the owner's relationships and stops the day they step back.

What is the Fulfilment System in VALUE360™?
The capability to deliver the product or service reliably, at quality, without the owner in the room. This dimension covers how work actually gets done: the delivery process, the supply chain and inventory behind it, and the customer experience it produces. It is where a promising business either scales or meets the owner's ceiling.
What we look at
- Delivery process
- Supply chain and inventory
- Customer experience
What good looks like: Documented delivery, a resilient supply chain, and a consistent customer experience.
What kills value: Delivery that depends on one person's know-how and falls over when they are away.
What is People & Leadership in VALUE360™?
The strength of the team and the leadership layer beneath the owner. This dimension measures how much the business depends on you: the organisational structure, the ability to attract, recruit and retain good people, and a culture that holds when you are not watching. Owner-dependence is the single largest discount a buyer applies.
What we look at
- Organisational structure
- Attract, recruit and retain
- Culture and engagement
What good looks like: A leadership team that could run the business without you, and low key-person risk.
What kills value: An owner who is the business, with no successor and thin management beneath them.
What is the Operating System in VALUE360™?
The systems, cadence and controls that hold value in place when the owner steps back. This dimension covers strategic planning, the operating rhythm the business runs to, documented systems and processes, and how risk is managed. It is the connective tissue that keeps the other four dimensions working without the founder pulling every lever.
What we look at
- Systems and processes
- Operating cadence
- Risk management
What good looks like: Systems built for efficiency and growth, a regular planning and reporting rhythm, and risks that are named and managed.
What kills value: A business that runs on memory and heroics, with no cadence and unmanaged risk.
Why VALUE360™
What VALUE360™ gives you
VALUE360™ is organised around what a buyer actually assesses in due diligence, and what really impacts your company value. The output is anchored in true valuation methodology.
Five buyer-aligned dimensions
The exact areas a buyer's diligence team examines, not a generic checklist.
Organised around the buyer
Built around what a buyer assesses, not a time-sequenced adviser process.
Built for the Australian mid-market
Designed for established Australian businesses preparing to grow or exit.
Delivered by valuation specialists
Developed by a credentialed Registered Business Valuer and following the guidelines of the International Valuation Standards (IVS).
A credentialed view of value
An expert developed and led view of value, not an automated, algorithmic score.
A clear path to the number
A route to a formal valuation prepared in accordance with the IVS when you need it.
VALUE360™ Lite is where you start. The full VALUE360™ assessment is done with an experienced adviser who works through your business in depth, pinpointing the risks and value drivers that actually move the needle on your valuation and building the roadmap to lift it before you go to market.
Proof
What the framework looks like in practice
Sold for almost 45% above the initial valuation estimate
Brooks Australia, the leading supplier of fire detection products in Australia and New Zealand, worked with Exit Advisory Group across a five-year journey that started with a valuation. We showed the owners where transferable value could be lifted across the VALUE360™ dimensions, they put the plan to work, and the business that reached the market was demonstrably stronger than the one we first assessed. Lead adviser: Simon Bedard.

What is VALUE360™?
VALUE360™ is Exit Advisory Group's proprietary framework for measuring and building the transferable value of a business. It scores a business across five dimensions a buyer examines in due diligence: Financial Performance, Growth System, Fulfilment System, People & Leadership and Operating System. It was built by Simon Bedard, a Registered Business Valuer and National Chair of the AIBB.
What's the difference between the VALUE360™ Lite Scorecard and a full VALUE360™ assessment?
The VALUE360™ Lite Scorecard on this site is a fast, self-serve overview: a few questions and an instant on-screen score. A full VALUE360™ assessment is the in-depth version, where an adviser works through each dimension of your business with you in detail, with a written report and the specific gaps to address. The Lite score is the starting point; the full assessment is the roadmap.
How long does a VALUE360™ assessment take?
The free VALUE360™ Lite Scorecard takes a few minutes on screen; it is a high-level self-assessment. A full VALUE360™ assessment is an adviser-led engagement that follows a scoping conversation and a review of your financials and operations. If you are working to a deadline, tell us and we will work to it.
Is VALUE360™ the same as a formal IVS valuation?
No. VALUE360™ is a value-building framework that shows where transferable value sits and where it is at risk. A formal valuation is a separate engagement that produces a defensible figure, signed by a Registered Business Valuer and prepared in accordance with the International Valuation Standards (IVS). Many owners use the framework first, then commission the valuation when they need the number.
