Exit Advisory Group is a boutique advisory firm helping business owners grow and exit their companies.
We’ve found that people often go into business because they want more time and freedom, but few achieve the financial and lifestyle rewards they want. And unfortunately, when they decide to exit, they're disappointed because their business is not worth what they thought.


We work with business owners to develop targeted growth and exit plans. We help them focus on the core drivers that have the biggest impact on company worth. This means as they grow their business, they are also building a valuable asset. Their business becomes more profitable, efficient, and enjoyable to own — and it’s less dependent on them. When they choose to exit, they have options:

  • They can sell the business for a premium because it's been built to sell
  • They can transition the company to the next generation with a good succession plan in place
  • They can put in a CEO and exit the day-to-day operations, while their business continues to grow.

We’re looking for a versatile writer to help us create engaging, useful content and marketing campaigns.

About the role

The type of work involved in this role includes:

Client writing

  • The key focus is developing Information Memorandums, these are investor pitch documents that position our client’s business to an acquirer. Previous experience writing these is not required as we have templates and frameworks you can use as long as you have a curious mind and an interest in learning about different businesses.
  • This work involves interviewing clients, working with our Advisory team, conducting research on the business and industry and developing an appealing document.

Thought leadership writing

  • Writing various types of copy for different channels and scenarios – emails, ads, social posts, thought leadership pieces, blog articles.

Developing email communication

  • Putting together regular emails to our database & other email campaigns for events, webinars and other marketing initiatives planned in our marketing calendar.

Preparing for webinars/events, lead generation campaigns

  • Working with the team to develop content for webinars, events, landing pages, industry whitepapers, online advertising (Facebook/Google/LinkedIn) and other company initiatives.

Podcast show notes

  • Writing the weekly show notes of our recently launched Podcast called Buy Grow Sell.  In the podcast, our CEO interviews business owners, and discovers the ‘good, the bad and the ugly’ of acquiring and exiting a business.

Helping produce business collateral & other initiatives

  • Working with the team to develop company related collateral such as Services Overviews, Website pages, Company Overviews etc
  • Working with the team on online courses and other tools we provide clients.

Developing client case studies

  • Liaising with clients, sales and marketing team to develop client case studies.

Content management

  • Planning and managing our content calendar in conjunction with the marketing team.

Our firm was established in 2016 and has been going from strength to strength. There are many exciting opportunities unfolding and we’re looking for a writer to take the baton from others in the company and help us develop consistency of tone and voice.

You’ll need to be:

  • Able to shift from client writing tasks to punchy content across different platforms
  • Comfortable jumping on the phone or zoom to talk to clients, team members and build relationships
  • Good at desktop research skills e.g. investigating different industries and finding highlights for client reports and content
  • Familiar with SEO writing
  • Willing and curious to learn new things - attend webinars, online courses, listen to Podcasts
  • Collaborative – you will be working closely with the CEO, Marketing Director, Marketing Assistant, Operations Manager on company projects
  • A self-initiator with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise projects/tasks plus flexibility to adjust plans quickly.
  • A background in B2B professional services market is advantageous. Familiarity with the ‘Storybrand’ methodology would also be helpful, or you are willing to learn about it (we have materials on this).
  • PowerPoint skills are also advantageous.

If you are worried about feeling isolated working from home, don’t stress.
We love people and are energised by collaborating with the team. All our team are remote, and we catch up on Zooms, Microsoft Teams and make old fashioned phone calls. But those of us in Sydney can still get together (permitting regulations). We have coffee catch up meetings, quarterly business reviews, and meet up when we visit clients. Staying connected is super important to us.

Part of every invoice paid to us goes toward micro loans, enabling entrepreneurs in less fortunate countries also fulfil their dreams. You won’t hear us proclaiming this on social media, or even see signs of it on our website. We share this quietly with our clients and simply find it rewarding knowing that we are setting others up for success. To date, we’ve made over 30 loans across 25 countries, and we have big plans to grow this.
We’ve also partnered directly with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife to plant trees on behalf of our clients. It is our shared belief that we are all responsible to ‘exit’ this world by leaving it in a better place than how we entered it.
